CLEVELAND–Hollywood has its red carpet. Cleveland had its orange carpet on Tuesday night.
The movie ‘Draft Day’ was filmed in Cleveland and it features the Cleveland Browns.
Kevin Costner portrays a team executive preparing for a crucial draft of college players.
Several Browns players appeared at the screening at the Cinemark Theater in Valley View.
And the carpet was orange, one of the Browns team colors.
Quarterback Brian Hoyer said, “Usually, you have premiers out in Los Angeles or New York. To see a premier here in Cleveland is really special.”
Defensive End Jabaal Sheard said, “With the draft coming up, I think it is going to be a big draft, two first round picks and just the exposure to Cleveland, not just the Browns. Cleveland itself I think they deserve it and hopefully it is huge.”
Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson commented, “It is always great to see Cleveland in a positive light. But it is even better for others who have not experienced Cleveland to see the same thing.”
Greater Cleveland Film Commission President Ivan Schwarz said Cleveland’s commitment to bringing movies here is paying off. “It is about putting eyeballs on Cleveland, Ohio. We are not a one job town. We can be a back lot for Hollywood as well,” he said.
‘Draft Day’ is getting good early reviews. It opens across the country on Friday.
